The Beginning
Founded in 1991 as the first private higher education college in northern Poland. Now WSG University is one of the largest non-public universities in Northern Poland and one of the most international universities in Poland. University oferuje 8 faculties in both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with more than 1000 lecturers, practitioners, and academic teachers from 23 countries.
Profile
As a student, you can be sure of the solid legal foundation of our university. The Higher School of Economy in Bydgoszcz was established by a decision of the Minister of National Education on March 17, 1999, in accordance with the Law on Higher Vocational Schools. Our authorizations are the same as state universities, which guarantees the quality and recognition of your diploma. We operate on the basis of the Law on Higher Education, and our status is confirmed by our entry in the register of non-public universities under number 309. By choosing us, you are betting on the stability and certainty of your educational investment.
History
Our history is a story of continuous development and adaptation to a changing world. We started in 1999 as the Higher Pomeranian School of Tourism and Hospitality. Initially, we offered two fields of study, with Tourism and Hospitality being the leading one. Each year, new programs were added, and in 2004 we obtained our first authorization to conduct master’s studies. In 2005, we outgrew the name WPSTiH and changed it to the WSG University. Since 2022, we have held the status of the Academy of Applied Sciences. However, we remain WSG University, continuing our 26-year tradition. We are developing the WSG brand, which has been reigning in the local educational market for 20 years.

We operate based on the concept of an entrepreneurial university, being a learning and non-profit organization. This means that every złoty is reinvested into modern educational facilities, high-quality teaching, and innovative scientific research. Our mission is not just words – it is daily actions aimed at your development and success.
